My Path to Bodywork

My journey into bodywork grew out of a lifelong fascination with human movement. Long before becoming a licensed massage therapist, I trained rigorously as a dancer—an experience that gave me a deep, foundational understanding of biomechanics, posture, and kinetic flow.

Following a rewarding career as a Newborn Care Specialist and Postpartum Doula, I transitioned to massage therapy in 2020. I spent four years practicing full-time at a premier resort destination spa in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. I provided up to seven hours of hands-on care per shift - honing my clinical intuition and technical skill. I also routinely received advanced education in a wide variety of modalities.

My Approach: Working With Your Nervous System A common myth in bodywork is that a massage must hurt to be effective. In reality, aggressive pressure often triggers a protective "rebound" effect, causing tissues to guard and pain to return even stronger.

My philosophy centers on nervous system regulation. Through the name Adagio—a musical term meaning slow, gentle, and fluid—I approach the body with patience rather than force. By signaling safety to your central nervous system, tight fascia and chronic tension unwind naturally, resulting in deeper, longer-lasting relief.

Supporting Healthcare Professionals & Caregivers Over the years, I found a natural synergy working with physicians, nurses, dentists, hygienists, PAs, and other healthcare workers. The physical demands of healthcare—repetitive hand motions, long hours on your feet, and sustained bending—take a heavy toll on the body. I take great pride in offering a compassionate, quiet sanctuary where healthcare providers and busy caregivers can reduce their physical strain, down-regulate their stress, and restore their mobility.

While my primary focus is supporting healthcare professionals and caregivers, my studio doors are open to anyone seeking gentle, nervous-system-centered relief. No matter your profession, if your body needs space to unwind and recover, you are warmly welcome here.
